TEMPLE, Texas — One person is injured and six people are without a home after a fire in Temple in the early morning of July 16, according to Temple Fire and Rescue.
Temple Fire and Rescue said crews responded to the report of a structure fire around 8:17 a.m. along S. 5th Street in Temple.
When crews arrived, they reportedly found "heavy smoke and flames" coming from the front of a home.
Fire and Rescue said said four people were in the home at the time of the fire, but six people lived there in total. All residents were reportedly able to evacuate.
Due to "significant fire" at the front door of the house, Temple Fire and Rescue said one person had to break a window to get out. The person suffered "moderate injuries", according to Fire and Rescue, and was taken to the ER for further treatment.
Temple Fire and Rescue said crews were able to extinguish the flames, calling the fire "under control" at 8:33 a.m.
All six residents will reportedly be "displaced" from the home because of the fire.
Temple Fire and Rescue reportedly responded to the fire with 12 units and 22 personnel, with the Temple Police Department and Temple EMS also on the scene.
The cause of the ignition is reportedly under investigation at this time.
