BELTON, Texas — Belton Independent School District Board of Trustees held a meeting Tuesday to discuss the plans for finding a new superintendent.
They heard from two firms, the Texas Association of School Boards Executive Search Services as well as Ray and Associates, Inc.
During the meeting both services pitched their group and answered questions on how they would replace Dr. Susan Kincannon.
On Aug. 29, outgoing Superintendent Dr. Susan Kincannon was hired at Waco ISD to become the district's new superintendent.
Belton ISD named Dr. Robin Battershell as its new interim superintendent on Aug.19.
After hearing from both services, the board went into closed session where they did not come to a decision on a firm. The board president said they want to take their time and make the right choice.
"As far as a timeline, we haven't identified one just yet." Board President Sue Jordan said. "As soon as we decide on a search firm, then we'll talk more concretely about timelines and things of that nature."
Jordan said they should have a decision on the firm by their next board meeting on September 16th.
