TEMPLE, Texas — A Temple woman in her seventies was confirmed as the seventh COVID-19 death in Bell County. The Bell County Public Health District was notified on June 1 that the woman was transferred from Weston Inn Nursing and Rehabilitation to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center.
She died on Sunday and the death was reported to the health district Monday.

6 News also broke down the positivity rate, which is the number of cases divided by the number of tests given. 21,377 tests have been given in Bell County as of June 15.
The county doesn't provide a day-by-day breakdown of tests so we've been tracking them on our own since June 9 when the rate was 2.4%.
The number increased to 2.45% on June 10, 2.57% on June 11 and 2.67% on June 10.
The county didn't update the test numbers over the weekend but as of Monday the positivity rate stood at 2.79%.
Despite the increase, it's also important to look at the number of people hospitalized. In Bell County, of the 598 positive cases only 77 people have ever been hospitalized.
Park Place Manor Nursing Home, which was mass tested by the state, had only one test come back positive, Director Annie McCall confirmed on Monday.
Fifteen New Cases of COVID-19 have also been confirmed in McLennan County.

The Waco-McLennan County Public Health District reported 15 new cases which brought the total to 178 with 49 of those active. Six of those patients were hospitalized.
13,787 people were tested in the county putting the positivity rate at 1.29%.
We also took a close look at the number of people hospitalized in Texas.
Hospitalizations in Texas as of June 14 were at 2,326. The number of available beds was 14,525 and the available ICU beds was 1,626.
