School will be closed l Clifton High School band qualifies for UIL State Marching Band Championships in San Antonio

Clifton HS marching band qualified for the state championships in San Antonio, leading to Clifton ISD to cancel school on Nov. 6.

CLIFTON, Texas — Clifton ISD announced on Monday that schools throughout the district are closed on Nov. 6.

Clifton High School band will compete in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) State Marching Band Championships in San Antonio that day. The band will perform at 11 a.m., according to the schedule for that day.

Posted on Clifton ISD's Facebook page, Clifton ISD Superintendent Andy Ball stated that classes are cancelled to allow students and staff members to attend the event. The day will not be made up at the end of the year.

Should the band advance to the finals, they will perform sometime between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., with awards taking place shortly after at 9:45 p.m.
