CLIFTON, Texas — Clifton ISD announced on Monday that schools throughout the district are closed on Nov. 6.
Clifton High School band will compete in the University Interscholastic League State Marching Band Championships in San Antonio that day.
Posted on Clifton ISD's Facebook page, Clifton ISD Superintendent Andy Ball stated that classes are cancelled to allow students and staff members to attend the event. The day will not be made up at the end of the year.
The championships fall in the middle of a quiet week for Clifton ISD. On Nov. 5, classes are cancelled for Election Day.
School is also closed on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 due to a national education convention based in New Jersey, which means students will not return to the classroom until Monday, Nov. 11.
