LACY LAKEVIEW, Texas — Lacy Lakeview PD (LLPD) is warning citizens about a scam involving a woman pretending to work for the police department asking questions about a resident's house.
On Monday, LLPD shared on Facebook that a resident got a scam call by someone who goes by "Ashley".
The police department has confirmed she does not work there. They are also urging anyone who receives a phone call similar to this to immediately hang up and that the police department has no reason to contact residents regarding their home.
The scam caller provided the phone number 254-723-3543, a different number than the official LLPD office number which is 254-799-2479. Police are advising residents to always verify who they are speaking to before giving out any personal information.
