Water services temporarily restored to Robinson residents, mandatory water restrictions in effect

The City said there will be no outside watering until the broken water line can be properly repaired.

ROBINSON, Texas — Water services have been temporarily restored for residents in Robinson after a major water line was hit on July 16, causing many to have their water shut off.

However, during the temporary fix, the City of Robinson has announced mandatory outdoor water restrictions will be in place until the line can be properly repaired.

According to the City, on July 16, contractors hit a 24-inch water main line coming from the water tower, causing crews to be deployed to fix the issue.

While repairing the damage, the City water crew reportedly encountered an issue where they were unable to get the correct parts needed to repair the line, and will have to special order the correct pipe.

The City said this could cause final repairs to be delayed until Thursday, July 18.

While the water crew was able to restore water services to customers temporarily, the City said outdoor water restrictions are in place in order to continue to meet customer demands during the fix.

Outdoor watering is not allowed until the line can be properly repaired, said the City. They hope the repairs will be completed by Thursday evening.

Additional updates to this story will be provided as they become available.
