KILLEEN, Texas — As we get settled into the year 2024, most of us are beginning to take down holiday decorations to get ready for the next season.
If you used a real Christmas tree, it's not as simple as just packing it away. So, where can you go if you want to get rid of it? Thankfully, multiple cities in Central Texas are offering places to take your Christmas trees so that they can be recycled and repurposed.
Killeen
The City of Killeen is hosting its annual Christmas tree recycling event at the Killeen Special Events Center on Saturday, Jan. 6.
Those looking to take advantage of this event can visit the center located at 3301 S WS Young Dr. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The City notes that all ornaments, lights, tinsel and other decorations must be removed in order for the tree to be accepted.
This event is completely free.
