Pulled over Promposal: Two Troy teens ticketed their girlfriends to ask them to the dance

Benjamin Presley and Kyle Korte are known pranksters at Troy High School. The way they asked their girlfriends to prom may be their best one yet.

TROY, Texas — Two Troy High School juniors pulled out all the stops to ask their girlfriends to prom. They even managed to get law enforcement in on the gag.

Benjamin Presley and Kyle Korte waited until the last second to ask their girlfriends Amber Jackson and Kristyn Weir to the prom. So, they planned a next level promposal to make up for it.

Presley and Korte pretended to dine and dash after grabbing dinner at a Texas Road House with the girls. It didn't take long for them to get pulled over on the drive home.

"Oh, they're terrified, they're freaking out, screaming at him," Presley said.

The whole scene was staged. The boys were pulled out of the car for further questioning about the fake dining and dashing, and their girlfriends waited nervously in the backseat, totally blindsided by the prank.

"Did y'all pay for this meal?" Bell County Constable Thomas Prado, who was in on the prank, asked. "They called me and said y'all skipped out, come on out of the car."

The boys hid behind a patrol car, eager to see the chaos they caused.

"I can't wait to see their faces," Presley said.

Meanwhile, the girls were in an entirely different mood.

"I'm going to cry," Weir said.

Prado really sold his part.

"Y'all walked out without paying, it's a class A misdemeanor," he said. "You're going to go to jail tonight. Do you want to go to jail?"

After getting them riled up, Prado showed the girl the ticket their boyfriends wrote on. It, of course, asked them to prom.

"Can we say no?" Weir said.

"Is that an option?" Jackson said.

That's what they checked. Once the shock wore off, the girls said yes.

"Gosh I don't know I was nervous," Jackson said. "I think it's so sweet and they put in that much effort. It means a lot to me."

"I started like shaking I really didn't know," Weir said.

The guys were pleased with their plot.

"They freaked out, it was awesome," Presley said.

Prado said he was happy to help.

"It's always good to see something positive," he said. "We always see the bad. We never see the good. This is the good so it's worth it it's worth it."

The boys said they're already plotting next year's promposal.

"I'm thinking about doing something in the sky, it's gonna be awesome," Presley said.

"I was about to say we should skydive, let's do it," Korte said.
