BELTON —
A hazardous materials team responded to the Bell County Justice Complex in Belton Tuesday after an envelope containing a powdery substance was found, according to Maj. TJ Cruz with the Bell County Sheriff's Office.
Maj. Cruz said only the main lobby and front entrance were closed while the hazmat team made sure the substance was not a threat. All employees working at the center were allowed to get into the building through other entrances. No streets or other businesses in the area were impacted.
The Bell County Justice Complex main lobby area was reopened around 1:30 p.m.
The Bell County Sheriff's Department is investigating the incident.
