Pink Angel Warriors host 10th annual Pink Dash in Copperas Cove

The 10th annual Pink Dash in Copperas Cove, organized by the Pink Warrior Angels in partnership with Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful.

COPPERAS COVE, Texas — The Pink Warrior Angels hosted their 10th annual Pink Dash this morning, bringing together volunteers, vendors and city officials to display community support. The event, held in partnership with Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful, aimed to raise awareness and funds for families and people affected by cancer.

Among the attendees was Isiah Ortiz, whose mother, Amber Gorman, was one of the board members of the Pink Warrior Angels before losing her battle with breast cancer in May.

"Patients and families could feel alone, and when they see the community support, it uplifts them, especially with the people and the pink warrior angels," Ortiz said. "They support me as much as possible in the community, from her work to my work to people I barely know. They've stepped in to help."

The Pink Dash featured participants of all ages, each running or walking in honor of loved ones touched by cancer. Gorman’s legacy was a central theme; her family and friends carried on her mission of helping those in need.

Funds raised during the Pink Dash will directly assist families like the Gorman’s, easing the financial burden of medical treatments. The event highlighted cancer patients' struggles and fostered a sense of unity and resilience within the community.

The Pink Warrior Angels and the Copperas Cove community stand firm in the fight against cancer, celebrating life and supporting one another through every challenge.
