Milam County DA seeks death penalty in killing of Rockdale baby

ROCKDALE, Texas — The Milam County District Attorney's Office on Monday announced it will seek the death penalty in the killing of 20-month-old Patricia Rader,

30-year-old Shawn Vincent Boniello, who is also known as Shalya Angelina Boniello, is accused of killing Radar.

The Rockdale Police Department is investigating the child's death the Milam County District Attorney's office said in a press release.

The investigation started when police were called about an incident at a Rockdale home on Dec. 3, the district attorney's office said.

The district attorney's office said it has yet to see a report or any evidence against the defendant, Shawn Boniello, however, it has gotten two probable cause affidavits: capital murder and endangering a child.

Boniello was charged with capital murder of a child younger than 10 years of age, the district attorney's office said. The charge is punishable by death or life without parole, according to Texas law.
