DALLAS — The widespread Microsoft tech disruptions caused impacts at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport early Friday morning, as hundreds of travelers navigated problems at check-in, uncertain flight statuses and crowded airport concourses.

The issues were appearing to get back on track by around 5:30 a.m. American Airlines officials shortly before 5 a.m. posted on X that the carrier was "able to safely re-establish our operation," after previously having to ground all flights until tech issues could be resolved.

Other airlines saw similar impacts, including United Airlines and Delta. Delta officials around 5:30 a.m. posted on X that its flights remained "paused" as the airline was "working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible to resume operations."

A representative with American Airlines confirmed Friday morning that a technical issue with CrowdStrike was impacting the airlines.

Flight Aware at 5:45 a.m. was showing 64 total cancellations at DFW Airport on Friday, with 40 additional flights delayed. Most of the cancellations, 51, were on American flights.
