Memorial planned for beloved Temple store owner

A man known for his generosity and kind spirit will be honored Saturday, October 22nd in Temple.

A man known for his generosity and kind spirit will be honored Saturday, October 22nd in Temple.

68-year-old Jerry Talasek, owner of Kerley's Meat Market, passed away Sunday, October 16th.

The organizer, Bryant Ward, President of Al Edwards Juneteenth Association, said thousands of people were expected to attend.

The memorial starts at 2 p.m. at Kerley's Meat Market at 615 East Central Ave. in Temple.

Talasek graduated from Temple High School and attended Sam Houston State University.

He owned an operated Kerley's for 47 years.
