MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas — McLennan County Commissioners Court says it will be closed on the day of the solar eclipse, which will happen on Monday, April 8.
McLennan County is in the path of totality for the solar eclipse and is expecting a large influx of people as it won't happen again for a really long time.
The county stated, "To ensure the safety of the residents of McLennan County and those traveling through or visiting, the Sheriff’s Office and the Emergency Management Office are leading a multi-agency preparedness campaign. To help alleviate the strain on these departments and in the interest of public safety, the Commissioners Court will be closing all county offices during normal operating hours on April 8, 2024."
The County says the Sheriff's Office, Constables' Offices and Road and Bridge department will remain open.
