Groesbeck police are searching for a wanted man who escaped police custody Monday.
Officials said two officers were on patrol when they saw Tristan Neason walking in the 200 block of West Yeagua Street.
The officers were aware Neason had two outstanding arrest warrants and they tried to make contact with him. Neason fled from police and a foot chase started. One of the officers overtook him and placed him in custody.
He was placed in the back seat of an assisting agency’s patrol vehicle for transport. However, Neason freed himself from the vehicle and was last seen running in the 400 block of South Ellis Street, police said.
He was not located after several agencies conducted a search.
Neason was wearing all black clothing at the time of the incident.
Anyone who has seen Neason is asked to contact their local law enforcement.
