TEMPLE, Texas — A man went to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a stabbing in Temple Sunday afternoon, Temple police said. The victim, identified as Simeon Freeman, 40, of Temple succumbed to his injuries Monday.
The suspect, who was identified as Christopher Simmons, 41, was still on scene and was detained by police. After an initial investigation, Simmons was placed under arrest and taken to Bell County Jail, Temple police said.
Temple police responded to the stabbing at the Wildflower Apartments located at 910 S. 35th St. Sunday afternoon.
The circumstances of this incident are still under investigation. Charges are pending screening by the Bell County District Attorney's Office, Temple police said.
