WACO, Texas — Nearly 100 First Responder vehicles from different agencies in McLennan County visited Hillcrest and Providence hospitals to shine their lights for encouragement to those hospitalized and those that care for them Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
"It's an opportunity for all of us first responders in the McLennan County area to come and just show support for those that are gonna be shut in, that are in the hospital you know during the holiday season," Officer Garen Bynum with Waco PD said.
The Waco Police Department invited McLennan County First Responders to help give encouragement during this holiday season, according to the department's Facebook page. This is annual event's third year.
"I think honestly this year it will actually mean a lot more to someone just being able to see us out there flashing our lights letting them know that we are here for them no matter what," Sgt. James Robison with Bellmead PD said.
