Killeen Police K9 retires after 7 years

Edy served as a narcotics/patrol K9 at KPD with his handler for seven years.

KILLEEN, Texas — The Killeen Police Department is wishing a happy retirement to one of its own, K9 Edy!

Edy, a Belgian Malinois, served the department and community as a dual-purpose narcotics/patrol K9 with his handler, Officer Ache, for seven years, said KPD.

During his time on the force, KPD said Edy located "countless illegal drugs, weapons and criminals with patrol", saved lives and assisted multiple law enforcement agencies over his career.

"Not only was Edy a great working K9, he was great at community events and elementary schools," said Killeen PD in a Facebook post commemorating Edy's retirement.

KPD thanked Edy for his service to the Killeen Police Department and the City of Killeen.

Edy will now reportedly enjoy his retired life with Officer Ache.
