KILLEEN, Texas — Killeen Independent School District released drone photos of its newest school, Maude Moore Wood Elementary, in a press release Tuesday.
The $25 million school was built with regular facilities funds, not bond funds, according to Killeen ISD chief communications officer Terry Abbott.
More than 1,000 students from across the district will attend the new school for the 2019-2020 school year, Abbott said. The district already approved rezoning for next school year to help with overcrowding at other elementary schools.
Abbott also said the school is ready for future growth in the district.
The school has the following amenities:
- Classrooms for Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grades
- Special education and resource rooms
- Library equipped with media center
- Computer labs
- Art and science rooms
- Music rooms
- Gym and activity room
- Cafeteria with platform
