KILLEEN, Texas — The City of Killeen is opening its Arts and Activities Center as a warming center as frigid temperatures begin to affect the Central Texas region.
The center, located at 801 N. 4th St., will open its doors at 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8 and Tuesday, Jan. 9. The center will close after each day at 8 a.m. However, if no one is taking advantage of this shelter by 11:30 p.m., the warming center will close at that time.
The City says these warming centers are intended to provide temporary relief from the cold to those in need. This means that no beds or showers will be provided at the centers.
