MOODY, Texas — Unbridled hosted a special Community Day event to honor veterans and first responders Saturday.
Its mission is to help people navigate and overcome challenges, using horses as a tool to promote healing and personal growth.
Unbridled is an equine-assisted therapy program that helps individuals who have experienced trauma or life conflicts. Through the use of horses, participants work through emotional challenges, build confidence, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. The program offers services to veterans, first responders, and youth in the Central Texas area.
Trista Morgan, a former participant in the Unbridled Youth program, shared how the program has impacted her life.

“I was just expecting to enjoy it because I love horses,” Trista said. “But after completing the program, I walked away feeling like a genuinely better person. I know myself better now, and it really changed me.”
Trista was part of Unbridled’s youth program, designed to help young people gain confidence, discover their strengths and learn to navigate life's challenges.
"One of the hardest things to do sometimes is to sit and talk to somebody," Unbridled Executive Director Ty Delley said. "We help figure out what's right with people instead of what's wrong, helping them understand their strengths and talent."
Each session at Unbridled is customized to meet the needs of the individuals involved, but they all share a common goal: to use the healing power of working with horses to help those affected by trauma.
In addition to the program's work with veterans and youth, Unbridled offers support for first responders, who often deal with high-stress situations that can lead to mental health challenges.
Unbridled plans to continue hosting more community days to expand their outreach and help even more veterans, first responders, and youth in Central Texas.
