TEXAS, USA — It's officially 'Spooky Season' and what better way to embrace it than going to a historically haunted place in Texas!

Recently, Texas was named the most haunted state in America by BonusFinder.com after they compiled a list of ghost sightings, reports of paranormal activity and cemeteries.

Haunted spots can be found all around the Lone Star State, but in this article we will be taking a look at some generalized in the Central and Brazos Valley regions.

So, let's dive in!

The Historic Bowers Mansion - Palestine, Texas

This 140-year-old building comes with a very dark history. It was the scene of a murder-suicide back in the 1950's and is said to have had numerous suspicious deaths occur in it over the years. The spirits of the dead are said to still linger in the home, making it a very eerie place to be.

Animal Industries Engineering Building - College Station, Texas

According to the legend, on Nov. 14, 1959, meat locker room foreman Roy Simms was butchering meat in the animal laboratory, which was located in the building's basement, when he made a fatal mistake. Simms allegedly cut himself in his leg, severing his femoral artery, ultimately causing him to bleed out and die.

Since this fatal accident, numerous people have reported hearing haunting screams, footsteps, slamming doors and even an elevator operating with no passengers.

The room has since been turned into a men's restroom, which is also an entrance into the building's fire escape.

The Driskill Hotel - Austin, Texas

This hotel has quite the backlog of hauntings in it.

Starting with Room 525, where two brides separated by a century both killed themselves. One is said to be seen walking the halls in a Victorian gown and the other has been claimed to be seen carrying packages or a pistol down the hall.

If that isn't spooky enough, a girl is rumored to have tripped and fell to her death on the grand staircase at some point in history and giggles can still be heard in the area along with the sounds of balls bouncing on the stairs.

These two tales are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this menacing hotel, if you're daring enough to test these spirits yourself, you can book a visit here.

Catfish Plantation - Waxahachie, Texas

This location is a little different in that it is a restaurant.

It is an 1895 Victorian style house located in a residential area that was bought by the Bakers in 1984.

There are said to be three ghosts or spirits that roam the restaurant: Caroline, Elizabeth Anderson and Will.

Caroline is believed to be a woman who lived in the house from 1953 to 1970 when she died at the age of 80, but she is supposedly unaware that she died.

Anderson is said to be the 20-year-old daughter of a farmer who was strangled on her wedding day by either an ex boyfriend or an ex girlfriend of her fiancé.

Lastly, Will is said to be the quietest ghost as he was a farmer who lived in the house during the great depression.

Typical paranormal activity that happens here includes broken clocks chiming randomly, locked doors unlocking themselves and vice versa, and also lights going on and off by themselves.

The restaurant has since close, but it is still giving people in the area paranormal energy, you can learn more here.
