Crews extinguish fire at home in Harker Heights

Only a family pet needed to be treated for smoke inhalation from the fire, but was released back to the family in good health, according to Harker Heights FD.

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — A fire was reported late Wednesday evening at a home in Harker Heights.

According to the Harker Heights Fire Department, they were notified of the fire at 917 Rebecca Lane that morning at 8 a.m. and arrived on scene to begin working to prevent further damage.

All people that were inside of the home were safely evacuated, but a family pet did suffer from smoke inhalation. The pet was treated and released back to the family in good health, according to HHFD.

While a cause of the fire was not provided, officials say they were able to contain and extinguish it before it spread to other parts of the single-story duplex home.
