Fire extinguished at home in Harker Heights early Monday afternoon

Officials say all people were out of the home, and there was no damage to surrounding homes or property.

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — A house fire was extinguished early Monday afternoon in Harker Heights, according to a release from Chief Shannon Stephens.

The fire was reported at 1610 Yuma Trial just before 11:30 a.m. Responding fire units discovered a single-story duplex home with heavy smoke coming out the front when they arrived at the scene. No occupants were inside the home when first responders began to extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported, and no other homes or property were affected by the fire.
