Memorial service honoring late Waco Police Detective to be held on Thursday, Nov. 30

Detective Gary Allen Worsham unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, Nov. 12. He had been with the Waco Police Department since 2003.

Following the news from Waco Police Department earlier this month that Detective Gary Allen Worsham had unexpectedly passed away, a date and time for the late detective's memorial service have been announced. 

The service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Exchange Event Center in McGregor.

In February 2021, Worsham was assigned to the Family Violence Unit where he spent the last couple of years protecting victims from further abuse until his passing. 

Worsham was the recipient of the Medal of Valor and the Meritorious Unit Award during his career, and has been with the Waco Police Department since February 2003, when he joined as a police recruit. He eventually went on to work in the Patrol Division and served as a Field Training Officer and SWAT Team Hostage Negotiator. 

The Exchange Event Center is located at 300 S Jefferson Ave in McGregor.

Please join us for the memorial service honoring Detective Gary Allen Worsham. The service will be held tomorrow, Thursday, November 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the Exchange Event Center in McGregor.
