Coryell County issues Declaration of Local Disaster ahead of April 8 Solar Eclipse

The order will go into effect on Saturday, April 6.

CORYELL COUNTY, Texas — Coryell County Judge Roger Miller made a Declaration of Local Disaster ahead of the April 8 Solar Eclipse on Thursday, April 4. 

According to the Coryell County Sheriff's Office, this declaration will go into effect on Saturday, April 6 at 6 a.m. and it will not go beyond seven days. 

Sheriff's Office says in addition to all county offices being closed on April 8, there will be a reinstatement of the outdoor burning ban beginning on Saturday and ending on April 10. 

Commercial trucks carrying oversized, wide load or overweight loads will not be allowed to operate within Coryell County from April 7 through April 9 at 6 a.m. 

This declaration also authorizes the City of Gatesville to take traffic control measures from April 7 through April 9.
