TEMPLE, Texas — It is the moment many Temple residents have been waiting for.
The City of Temple will host the official ribbon-cutting for the 1st Street Parking Garage in Downtown Temple on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m.
The City said the state-of-the-art parking facility, located on S. 1st St. and W. Avenue A, is finally ready to serve the community after a lengthy construction project that began in January 2023.
According to the City of Temple, the garage features 242 parking spaces across three floors. The City says the garage has been designed to "provide a secure, efficient and convenient parking solution for both residents and visitors to Downtown Temple".
“This parking facility will not only alleviate the parking challenges in downtown Temple, but also contribute to the continued growth and development of our city,” said City of Temple Assistant City Manager David Olson. “We are thrilled to celebrate this significant milestone for Temple and its residents.”
City officials, project stakeholders and members of the community are all expected to be in attendance at the ribbon-cutting.
