WACO, Texas — Bring out your scraps.
The City of Waco Solid Waste Department is celebrating America Recycles Day through their collection drive - no pun intended - on Nov. 16.
Waco residents will be able to recycle old tires from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 501 Schroeder Dr. on Scrap Tire Collection Day.
This event is only open to Waco residents. In order to register, participants must complete the form on the bottom of the event's webpage before 5 pm. on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Those registered will need to show their 'recipient number' received during registration. Individuals who show up without pre-registering must bring their current water bill and an ID matching their Waco address.
Old tires are susceptible to mosquitoes, rodents and other pests creating a home.
Scrap Tire Requirements
- Up to 10 tires per household
- Up to 20-inch sized tires
- No tires with rims or wheels
- No tires from businesses
- No OTR, skid steer, or earth movers
