MARLIN, Texas — The City of Marlin put out a notice stating that it would be entering Stage 4 of its Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
According to the notice, this move was made based on the current water outages and pressure issues happening around the city, as well as recommendations from the Public Works Director. According to the notice, all known water leaks have been repaired and the goal now is to reduce the City's water usage in order to build pressure and replenish the three main water tanks.
The City says if it is unable to reach the goal, additional or longer water outages can be expected.
By entering Stage 4, the City is requiring residents and businesses to restrict water usage to only personal and hygiene purposes, as well as for health and safety purposes.
Violations of these restrictions may be met with fines.
