MARLIN, Texas — Editor's Note: The attached video aired on Dec. 13.
A week after a boil water notice was instated for the city of Marlin due to a loss of water pressure in the city, the notice has been lifted.
The issues forced the city into a state of emergency, and crews have been working to identify and repair leaks within the system since the advisory was first issued on Dec. 10.
The evening that the water pressure loss was reported, half a dozen water leaks were found and repaired, with additional ones being reported in the days after the initial report on the 10th.
"Thank you for your patience while the city was fixing leaks and trying to restore the distribution system from its water loss," the Dec. 17 notice update stated. "Also thank you for your efforts in conserving water during this time of restrictions. It was noticed and greatly appreciated."
According to the Texas Water Development Board, the city has received over $13 million in state funding for improvements to their water system since 2019. The TWDB has also noted that the city has applied for additional funding in 2025.
