CHINA SPRING, Texas — A China Spring man has filed a lawsuit against SpaceX for over $250,000, claiming the vibrations from rocket tests have caused damage to his home.
According to court documents, Edward Leslie is claiming that on Feb. 22, 2023, SpaceX launched rockets at a testing site near his property in McLennan County. Leslie claims that SpaceX's "negligent testing of rockets and the rocket's continuous vibrations" caused his home's foundation to shift.
Due to the shifting of the home, Leslie claims the home suffered "significant damage" such as cracks in interior walls and the ceiling as well as brick walls and exterior floors. Leslie also claims interior doors do not stay open, according to court documents.
Leslie is accusing SpaceX of gross negligence in the lawsuit and is asking for monetary relief of over $250,000 but not more than $1,000,000.
SpaceX has been testing rockets at a facility in McGregor since 2003.
