CHINA SPRING, Texas — A video posted to social media shows a China Spring High School football player shove another student into lockers while screaming in his face.
China Spring Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Mark Faulkner sent a letter home to parents Tuesday that said disciplinary measures had been taken.
Due to privacy laws, Faulkner could not provide details on the type of punishment nor the students' names.
The video shows the student lifting the other student up by the front of his shoulder pads while knocking him backward into the lockers.
Faulkner said the behavior was "100 percent unacceptable" and plans were being made to keep a closer eye in the locker rooms.
"We have also made plans in the athletic locker rooms for coaching supervision during the changing periods so each locker room will have a member of the coaching staff present in the locker rooms to monitor behavior," Faulkner wrote.
Faulker said each head coach would meet with their student-athletes to reemphasize the correct behavior and standards for the athletic programs for all athletes.
"My hope is that you understand that the administration at the high school including the coaching staff have taken this incident very seriously and have disciplined the young man," Faulkner wrote.
