HILLSBORO, Texas — If you're heading up I-35 and looking for a place to use the bathroom, fuel up on gas or even get some good brisket, you'll be happy to know that Buc-ee's is opening its Hillsboro location on Sunday, April 21 at 6 a.m.
The mega-sized gas station, located at 165 State Highway 77, stretches across a whopping 74,000 square feet and will feature 120 fueling stations.
To open up this Buc-ee's location, Hillsboro Mayor Scott Johnson, City Manager Megan Henderson, Economic Development Director Art Mann and Hill County Judge Justin Lewis will attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. on April 21.
"We're thrilled to open our newest travel center in Hillsboro. This community has been nothing but supportive and we can't wait to welcome locals, as well as I-35 travelers, to enjoy all that Buc-ee's has to offer," Stan Beard of Buc-ee's said.
Following this opening, Buc-ee's will be operating 49 stores across Texas and the South. This Hillsboro store is bringing an estimated 200 jobs to the area and they are said to be paying well above minimum wage.
This store was originally scheduled to open earlier. However, on March 19, construction supply issues led Buc-ee's to announce its opening day would be delayed.
