UPDATE: Beverly Hills police arrest man who they say shot Little Caesars employee

Police said they arrested Leonard Black at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was charged with aggravated robbery and booked into McLennan County Jail.

BEVERLY HILLS, Texas — The Beverly Hills Police Department said it arrested the man who shot a Little Caesars employee on Saturday.

Leonard Black was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after police executed a search warrant at his home and seized what they said was the gun he used on Saturday.

Black was charged with aggravated robbery, which is a first degree felony, police said. He was booked into the McLennan County Jail.

"That guy was nothing but a cold-blooded killer that day," Police Chief Thomas Schmidt said at a press briefing.

Schmidt said an anonymous tip helped lead to the arrest.

The department released surveillance video showing the attempted robbery on Monday.

Police said the shooter was a black man who is between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, tan boots and had a bandanna over his face. He was considered armed and dangerous.

Schmidt said around 3:21 p.m., a man walked into the Little Caesars on South Valley Mills Drive, pulled out a gun, and demanded money.

The man shot a female employee in the shoulder after she didn't give him money. Then he ran away, police said.

The woman was taken to Hillcrest Hospital and was released later Saturday night, police said.
