BELTON, Texas — The City of Belton provided a small update on the search for 79-year-old Rogelio Arias, who has been missing since Saturday, March 9.
According to the city, Arias, who does not speak English and may be experiencing memory issues, went missing after walking away from his family's home on Muelhause Street.
The City says detectives continued to follow up on leads from the public and uncovered new footage which shows Arias walking northeast on Taylors Valley Road around 12:37 p.m. on March 9.
Chief Larry Berg stated, "We know that Mr. Arias walked for at least two miles on the day he went missing. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts we don't know much more than that. Still, we remain committed and determined to find him for his family."
Over the past week, the city says detectives have used a drone to search miles of fields, looked through dense overgrowth on foot and kayaked in nearby bodies of water. Currently, police are searching the area he was last seen with K9.
Below is the most up-to-date timeline of Arias' last known whereabouts on Saturday, March 9:
- 8:09 a.m.: Arias left family's home on Muelhause Street
- 11:47 a.m.: Arias walked east under I-35 overpass on Central Avenue
- 12:37 p.m.: Arias walked northeast on Taylors Valley Road
The city urges anyone who saw Arias near Taylors Valley Road after noon on Saturday, March 9 to contact the Belton Police Department at 254-933-5840.
