Belton ISD announces earlier start times for elementary campuses

This new change is only affecting the elementary schools in the district.

BELTON, Texas — Belton ISD announced that elementary campuses will begin classes five minutes earlier during the 2023-2024 school year on Wednesday, June 28.

According to the school district, the start time will be changing from 7:40 a.m. to 7:35 a.m. However, doors will continue to open at 7:10 a.m. to minimize drop-off impact.

Belton ISD says this change will provide give elementary students more content, ensuring their instructional time is maximized.

In addition, this will allow the school district more flexibility to meet the 75,600 instructional minutes required by the state if any inclement weather or school closures occur.
