BELTON, Texas — The legacy of a 12-year-old Belton boy who died tragically in 2016 will be cemented Monday when a baseball and softball complex officially becomes his namesake.
Jace Jefferson was diagnosed with a type of brain cancer in June 2015. He passed away almost a year and half after that diagnosis.
Jace loved baseball. He played in the Belton Youth Baseball Association at Heritage Park since tee-ball and kept playing until his passing.
The same complex will officially bare Jace's name after Monday night's dedication ceremony, scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Jace's sister will throw out the first pitch of the evening.
