On Tuesday a 4 p.m., Killeen Mayor Debbie Nash-King will host a reception at city hall to honor Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in an event that's the first of its kind.

They will be presented an official proclamation by the city and Mayor Nash-King, and the ACT Pasifika organization will also speak and give a traditional performance.

This year's event theme is "Advancing Leaders Through Innovation," which continues the "Advancing Leaders" series that started in 2021.

The event will be held in the City Hall chamber on the first floor.
