Bell County Flea Market in Belton destroyed by strong winds

The flea market said in a post on Facebook that the winds that caused the destruction came through around 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

BELTON, Bell County — A flea market in Belton has suffered major damage after high winds caused a structure to collapse on Monday.

The flea market said in a post on Facebook that the winds that caused the destruction came through around 8:30 a.m. Cleanup is underway after a short investigation from the county fire marshal cleared the area to be worked on.

Lots of items inside the businesses that were affected have been damaged, according to 6 News reporter Sydney Dishon, who spoke with multiple business owners who were affected by the sudden destruction.

One store owner says the only thing standing of his business was a sign that read "Jesus" and is visible from the nearby road. He also had many words of encouragement for others that were also affected by the sudden hardship.
