Boil Water notice issued for businesses, residents in parts of Woodland and Temple rescinded

The city says the notice was initially issued as a precautionary measure and was the result of a construction issue that impacted water pressure.

BELL COUNTY, Texas — A previously recommended boil water notice connected to a water pressure issue in part of Temple and Woodland, located just west of the city, has been rescinded.

The notice, which was put out Wednesday morning, affected residents and businesses near and around State Highway 317, extending west to Woodland and north of the Leon River in the 835 and 720 zones.

The city says the notice was issued as a recommendation for residents to feel safe and was issued due to a construction issue that impacted water pressure.

"The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided (the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of September 19, 2024," the city said in a press release on Thursday.

Those with questions about the matter are urged to call the City of Temple at 254-298-5611.
