Boil Water notice issued for businesses, residents in parts of Woodland and Temple

The city says the notice will be lifted when water conditions are deemed to be safe.

BELL COUNTY, Texas — An issue related to water pressure in part of Temple and Woodland, located just west of the city, have resulted in a precautionary boil water notice being issued by the City of Temple.

The notice affects residents and businesses near and around State Highway 317, extending west to Woodland and north of the Leon River in the 835 and 720 zones. While the city says there is no reason to be overly alarmed about contaminated or unsafe water, the notice was issued as a recommendation for residents to feel safe.

While the notice is in place, residents are encouraged to boil their water for at least two minutes before using it to drink, cook, or wash their hands or face. Bottled water can also be used as a safe alternative.

Those seeking further information can call the City of Temple's Utility Dispatch Line at 254-298-5611. Residents are encouraged to leave a voicemail due to the dispatch line's increased call volume.

The city says the notice will be lifted when conditions have changed.
