TEXAS, USA — Two burn bans are set to go into effect this weekend.
Beginning on Saturday at 8 p.m., Bell County will be placed under an emergency burn ban, while the city of Lampasas announced that they would also be instituting a burn ban the day after at the same time.
Other counties around Central Texas have also issued burn bans as of late. McLennan County issued a burn ban on Aug. 7, with Freestone and San Saba counties following up with their own burn bans just a few days ago.
According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, counties outside the larger population centers in the state--barring cities like San Antonio and El Paso--have issued burn bans.
