BCSO searching for missing woman who is four months pregnant

Lacaya Bell's mother said Bell recently told her boss she feared for her life. Authorities say her car was spotted in the Houston area.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — The Bexar County Sheriff's Office says they are actively searching for a pregnant San Antonio woman.

Lacaya Bell, 34, has been missing since Sept. 18. Bell's mother, Sharon Montague, says she last spoke to her on that day around noon.

Montague says Bell told her she was on her way to meet with her boyfriend.

"He wanted her to meet him to talk about it, because she had left him, and he wanted her to come back," said Montague.

Montague says she is very worried about Bell's safety. Bexar County authorities said Friday afternoon that Bell's vehicle, a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant with Texas license plate TBL6608, was "spotted in the Houston area."

"My family, her brothers, her co-workers, everybody is just worried for her," she said. "I'm worried for her and that unborn child."

Montague says Bell worked at the McDonald's on Loop 1604 and Marbach, and had recently gotten a promotion and never missed work. Since her disappearance, however, she just stopped showing up without notice.

Bell has also not picked up her paycheck, which her mother noted was alarming.

Before Bell went missing, Montague says she went to her boss and was upset about an incident that had occurred.

"She was very upset and shaking," Montague said. "Her boss said that she was terrified for her life."

Montague says she just wants Bell back home.
