Ascension Providence expands Waco drive-through COVID-19 testing

The drive-through testing center is for people who are referred to the site by Ascension Providence providers or by the local health authority.

WACO, Texas —

Ascension Providence has expanded the drive-through testing site in Waco in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, according to Public Relations Specialist Kathy Hadlock.

The drive-through testing center is for people who are referred to the site by Ascension Providence providers or by the local health authority. Patients can drive through in their vehicles, stay inside for the entire visit, and nurses will collect a nasal swab.

This drive-through is designed so that prescreened patients will never have to leave their vehicles to be tested. This helps ensure both their safety and the safety of Ascension Providence associates, according to Hadlock

Associates are trained and equipped with protective masks and other personal protective equipment that follow all infection prevention protocols put in place by the health system, according to Hadlock.
