Gov. Abbott declares State of Disaster for Hill, McLennan Counties and more

The governor credits this declaration to flash flooding, hail and wind damage.

MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas — Governor Greg Abbott has declared a State of Disaster for Hill, McLennan, Freestone, Limestone Counties and 25 others on Tuesday, April 30. 

According to the proclamation, heavy rainfall, flash flooding, large hail and hazardous wind gusts caused widespread property damage across the State of Texas that day. 

This proclamation authorizes the use of all available state resources to help these counties recover from the heavy downpour and sporadic weather.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management encourages anyone with damage or debris from the storms to fill out the TDEM iSTAT Form here.
