MGC Pure Chemicals America is one of Killeen's largest taxpayers because of this huge investment, the city said. Phase one of its facility will go into commercial production in early 2019, the company said.

KILLEEN, Texas — MGC Pure Chemicals America, INC invested another $12 million in its Killeen facilities, the Killeen Economic Development Corporation said.

When the MPCA facility is complete, the company will have invested about $40 million, making it one of the largest taxpayers in Killeen, the city said. The facility that broke ground in August 2017, will provide more than 30 jobs with an average salary of $66,000.

MPCA said it hired 80 percent of its workforce, and training is being conducted at corporate headquarters in Mesa, Arizona.

KEDC said it gave MPCA an additional 2.8 acres, so it can construct phase two of the facility.

At the facility, phase one is the site where hydrogen peroxide will be processed and purified for commercial production, meanwhile, phase two will process and purify ammonium hydroxide, KEDC said.

Both products are used in the semiconductor manufacturing industry, KEDC said.

Phase one will go into commercial production in early 2019, according to KEDC.
