33-year-old man injured in collision with truck tractor in Lampasas

According to police, the man was taken to Seton ER in Round Rock.

LAMPASAS, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) says a 33-year-old was injured after the car he was in struck a disabled truck tractor on US 183 in Lampasas on Wednesday, Jan. 31. 

According to DPS, the 33-year-old was a passenger in a 2020 Ford Transit that was being driven by a 28-year-old man. 

DPS says the Ford collided with the back of a broken down truck tractor that was on the outside southbound lane of US 183. 

According to DPS, the driver said that he was distracted and saw the truck tractor too late to avoid a crash.

DPS says the 33-year-old passenger suffered incapacitating injuries and he was taken to Seton ER in Round Rock via Care flight ambulance. 

No other injuries were reported. DPS says the crash investigation is still active and open.
