WACO, Texas — 19 people are currently without homes after a 2 alarm fire at an apartment complex in Waco on Wednesday, July 3, according to the Waco Fire Department.
The department said units were first dispatched at 3:20 p.m., arriving four minutes later. A second alarm was reportedly requested at 3:27 p.m., meaning additional personnel was requested.
According to Waco Fire, eight apartment units were affected by the fire and are without power. Two of the units were reportedly "heavily damaged" by the fire, and the others were damaged by smoke or water, said the department.
19 people were reportedly "displaced" due to the fire. No injuries have been reported to 6 News at this time.
According to Waco Fire, the fire was a 2 alarm, with 38 firefighters and 16 units responding.
The Red Cross is currently assisting those affected with clothes and other items, according to Waco Fire.
