WACO, Texas — Both a homeowner and their solar company are ready for things to move along with the installation of solar panels in Waco.
Jerry Crabtree reached out to 6 News worried about the status of his project and how he could get the solar panels put on his home.
Crabtree says the company he hired pulled the wrong permits to install the solar panels on his home after they started the installation. A representative with the solar company, Fastrac, can confirm they made this mistake.
"I'm not happy that we missed this and made a mistake and we do want to make this right," President of Fastrac Jordan Fruge said.
Fruge added that his company is adhering to the contract every party signed.
Fastrac has since put in at least five requests to the City of Waco to get the correct permits for the project and has not heard back.
6 News also reached out to the City and has yet to hear anything.
Once someone from the city gets back with the right permits, Fastrac says it will be able to continue installing the solar panels as planned.
If Crabtree decides to cancel the installation, then the company will charge him a $3,000 cancellation fee, as outlined in the paperwork everyone signed at the beginning of this project.
Crabtree says he is tired of waiting and wants to get this project done.
"They did all of this without permits, I feel like a victim," Crabtree added.
6 News will continue to follow this and will have updates as it moves along.
