6 Fix Story turned to 6 Fix Success: Erwin family seeing progress on property after it was damaged during pipeline replacement

The Erwin family is seeing progress after Atmos Energy agreed to clean up a mess that was left six years ago.

TEMPLE, Texas — After six years of unhappiness and reaching out to the 6 Fix team in June, the Erwin family in Coryell County is finally seeing results. Their property was severely damaged six years ago when Atmos Energy came in to replace a decades-old pipeline that went through it, causing significant disruption and financial loss. Now, Atmos Energy is fixing its mistake by paying contractors to help clean up.

Robert Erwin is under a non-disclosure agreement; however, when 6 News last spoke to him, he said this was a big relief.

“Whew, big sigh of relief, more than one," Erwin told 6 News. "I've done it quite a few times since they’ve called and agreed to pay all the damages on the road and lower the gas line. Thank you all very much for helping us. We couldn’t have done it without you.”

One issue that the contractors will focus on is the road washing out, which was flooding Erwin's barn and home.

Erwin did say he's very appreciative of 6 News and that he's finally getting his family home back to how it was.
