TEMPLE, Texas — Since reaching out to the 6 Fix team, Temple residents can feel well-rested in the morning after the alarm at Big Lots in Temple went off multiple times a week for months.
Several people raised concerns because they heard the alarm from even a mile away while in their beds. They just wanted it to stop, and they wanted someone to be held responsible.
Eric Day has lived in Central Texas for almost 20 years now and he captured video of the blaring sound one morning.
"It's been going on for months now," Day said. "I'd probably say about four or five months. All night long, it's just going off."
The alarm didn't stop until the store opened, he said.
"The whole time nobody shows up," Day explained. "No service vehicles or anything to even check on it."
The Temple Police Department False Alarm Reduction Program (FARP) said the Big Lots had their alarm registered with FARP. Each time their alarm went off, Big Lots received a $100 fine. Temple Police Department says it went off at least eight times.
